Puppies tend to learn very quickly, so it will be much easier to train her to greet you in a calm and desirable manner the younger she is.

This, in turn, will send out calming signals to her and will avoid getting her excited or anxious about your arrival.

Avoid looking or talking to your puppy until she settles down.

You will be excited to see your puppy as well, but if your puppy has this tendency, you can do this by practicing the no touch, no talk, no eye contact rule when greeting your puppy.

It is best to start discouraging this type of greeting behavior as early as possible.

if people would like to practice their heels/recall we could do that halfway or towards the end of the walk please let me know the interest for that in advance! If that is of interest though, please bring a longer line. Treats are highly welcomed but please do not give anyone else's dogs any treats as some may have resource guarding issues, allergies, leash frustration, etc. we should always ignore as I'm sure the owners are working on training the dogs to STOP lol. 6) Dogs that are shy/fearful of humans are definitely welcome so we ask people walking ALWAYS let the dog come to them/ask the owner without engaging with those dogs so that it gives the dog the chance to gain confidence!! Dogs that are jumping up on people, etc. Please contact me directly for those questions. 4) Children are definitely welcome but we'd ask that they're towards the back of the group for safety for them as well as calm energy lol 5) If your dog is fear-reactive it MUST be defensively, not offensively in manner. At the request of a few pet parents we're going to enjoy the beautiful Fall weather while working with our dogs! The simple requests that we have to make this a SUCCESS are as follows: 1) Please contact me directly for interest as we need to have a perfect balance of confident versus nervous energy and I'd like to pair/place dogs in a certain walk structure 2) No one should/can judge whatever training tools are used because training methods (especially in behavior) do work differently with different dogs and there is no cookie cutter method.at the end of the day we are all in this to give our animals their best lives! 3) Please arrive promptly in the parking lot & provide distraction for your dog in order to avoid leash frustration until we start to walk.
